GIVE A LOT, GET A LOT! DONATE NOW TO RECEIVE A LIMITED EDITION ROBERT BATEMAN LITHOGRAPH!

RAVEN is pleased to present to our supporters a rare opportunity to acquire a unique Robert Bateman lithograph. Robert Bateman is a Canadian icon, regarded as one of the world’s greatest wildlife artists. He is also an avid conservationist and has dedicated his life to encouraging people to value and conserve the natural world.
Woodland Caribou (hand-coloured) is a limited edition lithograph created by Robert Bateman in support of Harmony Foundation’s environmental education programs (www.harmonyfdn.ca). Mr. Bateman is the Foundation’s Honorary Chair Harmony Foundation has generously donated 10 hand-coloured lithographs to RAVEN in support of our educational work!
Only 290 copies were created by the artist, 100 were hand-coloured. The hand-colouring will vary from lithograph to lithograph and from the sample illustration attached. Each of these 12” x 19” hand-coloured lithographs is considered an original work of art and is recognized as such by museums and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Dipping a toe into the investment pool!
RAVEN is growing up! – and taking the plunge into a new way for supporters to invest in our work. Now, in addition to cash donations and online donations made through PayPal, we have blasted open a door to the world of stocks, bonds, GICs and other securities. And these donations will still all qualify as charitable giving, so donors receive the financial benefit of philanthropic giving as well as the ‘feel-good’ side of helping a worthy cause. Our VEN (Very Exciting News)! RAVEN now has a no-fee account with Edward Jones (and it behooves us to note that our investment advisor is waiving all his fees too). The account can hold securities from both Canada and the U.S. – and it allows investors who may need a tax-incentive to make a contribution that is win-win for RAVEN and them - charitable giving while helping support our work to assist First Nations and save the planet. There are many ways it can work – for examples or advice you can call our advisor.
This is a safe option for RAVEN too, because the account will not take any hedged securities or deal with options. And all donated securities will be held as cash in order to ensure the donor receives the tax credit they anticipate, and so that RAVEN staff do not need to deal with today’s challenging markets. We’re considering having a dinner meeting for investors who might be interested in hearing more (please let us know if this interests you) – but in the meantime; potential donors who are interested or have questions can call RAVEN’s investment representative Ali Nozari at 250.544.4939. Or email at ali.nozari@edwardjones.com.

WATCH TAKING ON TARMAGEDDON! Campbell Road Productions has partnered with the environmental campaign group People & Planet to produce a documentary investigating the tar sands oil extraction project in Alberta, Canada. People & Planet have selected 8 students from their network that will head off to Canada to meet with the Beaver Lake Cree first nation who live right in the middle of the biggest industrial project on Earth. The documentary will follow each of the students through their investigations documenting their experiences, thoughts and emotions on seeing the impacts of tar sands oil extraction. People & Planet are now raising funds for a similar exchange, bringing students from Beaver Lake Cree Nation to the UK. SEE THE spOILt SENSATION!

- includes interviews with young members of the Beaver Lake Cree speaking about how tar sands developments have impacted on their community's traditional values, their lives and the local landscape
- looks at the links between the young film-makers' own community in Wales and the Beaver Lake Cree culture
- follows the young film-makers as they talk to representatives from Shell and others about tar sands developments and the Co-operative'sToxic Fuels campaign.
