A Penny Donated is a Lake Saved...
Dear Friends,We need your help to save Teztan Biny (Fish Lake). RAVEN currently supports the Tsilhqot'in National Government and Xeni Gwet'in First Nation in their legal action against Taseko Mines Prosperity Project which proposes to turn a pristine lake (Fish Lake) into a dump site for acid waste rock. The mine must be turned down - and to do this we must convince the environmental review panel of the significant, irrefutable impacts the project will have.
Join us in an effort to demonstrate the power of small grants and grassroots action!
We have partnered with Small Change Fund, a new initiative that aims to engage Canadians in supporting high-impact grassroots projects.
Small Change Fund can help projects like ours access opportunities and audiences we not otherwise reach, to achieve our goal of raising $5000 to assist with the federal environmental review hearing by February 2010.
Small Change Fund harnesses the culture and power of social networking. www.smallchangefund.org is a space online where Canadians can connect with local leaders - like us! - doing amazing things to better communities across Canada.
It’s a deceptively modest and quietly powerful tool enabling investment in the most high-impact grassroots action across the country.
We are part of an inaugural group of grassroots projects featured on smallchangefund.org, hand picked by expert advisors from across Canada for our ability to do a lot with a little.
To save Fish Lake, we need to raise funds to assist with the preparation for the upcoming public hearings (expected to start in January and run through February). Any contribution, no matter the size, will go a long way toward our modest goal. Join us in demonstrating that one small group of individuals can indeed change the world!
